“We’re in an exciting period of auteur-driven television right now,” said Executive Producer Steven Soderbergh. “When Philip floated the idea of a Girlfriend Experience-inspired television show, I thought: ‘let’s make it a different woman in a different city, let’s pair two independent writer/directors, one male and one female, and let them do the whole thing.’

Wot? Wot? I had NO idea she was making a tv series!!!!

Cant wait til she starts working on this, I am so interested in it. I am thinking she really will have to step her game in this role! For being a shy person prior to acting, this will take some skills portraying someone in that type of risqué business. Just a random thought.

Riley plays Christine Reade, a law student at Univ of Chicago and an intern at a prestigious law firm, who is intrigued when a friend introduces her to a world of transactional relationships. Attracted to the rush of control and easy money. Christine has to control her own conflicting identities. She learns to navigate and manipulate the big personalities in both worlds to get what she wants, in the process of becoming a quasi-lover and confidant to men who are willing to pay richly for her time, offering a service known as a GFE. ( girlfriend experience)

The scripted anthology series will feature 13 half-hour episodes. Written and directed by Lodge Kerrigan and Amy Seimetz. It is produced by Transactional Pictures, Starz has all domestic rights and distribution.

I'm very disappointed because according to Imdb, Riley is only in 1 episode (only seen up to episode 9 so far). I really thought she was the main star of this series.

I'm going to guess that's incorrect for now. She's been in Toronto basically this entire time, so I can't imagine she's not in it more

I usually find imdb good for things like this, and Riley's name is way down the list. If she was in every episode, she would have the top cast name. Also the fact that 9 episodes have been made so far, why aren't there anymore different pics of her (from different episodes I mean).
I'm thinking maybe the series is about a different call girl each week.
I would have loved if she had been the main star, but I just don't think so.

There have been other photos of her filming onset, just not paparazzi ones. (i.e. the photo above your first post) She wouldn't be in Toronto filming daily if she was only in one episode. She's also in the teaser trailer. The imdb page also only lists Amy Seimetz as directing one episode and I know that is incorrect. I just don't think all of the information is fully there personally.

Ok so I will still have hope then, lol. It would be brilliant if she was in more episodes.

From how it was talked about previously, it seems like she definitely is the main character.....and from Bare - we have seen an IMDB completely change from having certain people cast to other people cast overnight so I think it's just a matter of time before it's all updated.  It seemed like they're almost wrapped on filming, so I would think they'd be done with more than 9 episodes too

Yah, confusing reports about this tv series, I would like to think she'll be in it a lot.... Look out for the next trailer, peeps!

Starz to Bring The Girlfriend Experience to Cannes

This MIPCOM, Starz plans to introduce The Girlfriend Experience, an original anthology series starring Riley Keough (Mad Max: Fury Road), who has signed on to attend the market.

The Girlfriend Experience is about a law student who gets mixed up in a world in which women provide emotional and sexual relationships for a fee. The 13-part scripted program, produced by Transactional Pictures, comes from Oscar- and Emmy-winning EP Steven Soderbergh. It is due to debut on Starz in the U.S. at some point next year. Starz holds all domestic multiplatform rights and serves as the worldwide distributor of all other rights, including TV, home entertainment and digital.

The Girlfriend Experience will be premiered at MIPCOM on October 5 at 8:30 a.m. in Auditorium K of the Palais. Keough will be in attendance to support the private, invitation-only screening of the first two 30-minute episodes
