Presley Sends Floral Thank You To Sunflower Supplier
LISA MARIE PRESLEY has personally thanked a florist who answered a public plea to surround MICHAEL JACKSON's burial plot with sunflowers - by sending the generous fan a blooming bouquet of his own.
The singer, who was married to the King of Pop for two years from 1994, was shocked by the lack of floral tributes around Jackson's gravesite when she recently went to visit the Thriller hitmaker's mausoleum at Forest Lawn Memorial Parks & Mortuaries in Glendale, California.
Presley reached out to fans on her MySpace.com page last Thursday (13May10), urging them to "surround" Jackson's grave with sunflowers.
She wrote, "I thought you might like to know that he would want and deserves more than what is there and I had an idea... Some may or may not know this but his favourite flower was the Sunflower. I thought if whoever wants to bought just one silk sunflower each and sent it, the whole area around him and in front of him (would be covered). We can all cause a "Sun shower" if you will... He deserves to be flooded and surrounded, LET'S SURROUND HIM!"
Presley's ploy worked and the man behind online florist SunflowerGuy.com sent more than 1,500 of the plants to brighten up Forest Lawn on Friday (14May10).
Presley was overjoyed to learn about the huge delivery - and has sent her own bouquet of roses and lilies to the website's owner to thank him for the gift, reports TMZ.com.
The accompanying note reads, "Thank you so much for donating the beautiful flowers. Lots of love, LMP."
