thank you! Dora, feel free here. Not so crowded here, don't think it'll ever be like an official forum's atmosphere.
This forum, I'm proud to say, like a semi-official forum of Riley. Lisa Marie's media representative came by and checked the forum and said as long as we do not post publicly Riley's or Ben's private photos, they are ok with the rest and asked me if it is ok to remove Ben's facebook/myspace pictures so I agreed to do with pleasure party smile They said they are aware, those photos can be found anywhere else but their consent is what I've wanted and in order to keep them happy, I have removed private photos of Ben and Riley Very Happy

Michael Jackson exhibition to return to Newbridge Silverware

NEWBRIDGE Silverware are presenting Michael Jackson – The Tribute, "A Once in a Lifetime Exhibition" at the Museum of Style Icons from October 24 – November , 2009.

On June 25, 2009, the world came to a sudden standstill in reaction to the news of the untimely death of the greatest entertainer of all time - Michael Jackson.

This free tribute exhibit will showcase the most iconic property from the career of the King of Pop and includes unique memorabilia gifted from Michael to his friends and family. These pieces have never before been on public display.

The highlight in the exhibit is Michael Jackson's iconic white glove from his 1983 performance of Billie Jean at the Motown 25 television special where he performed the Moonwalk for the first time. Michael Jackson gifted this glove to Walter Orange, one of the founding members of the Commodores. This glove is considered one of the most iconic pieces of Michael Jackson.

Also among the rare Michael Jackson items are: a stage-worn fedora hat worn by Michael in his performance at the 1995 MTV Music Awards with a letter from Lisa Marie Presley Jackson stating its provenance, zombie costumes from the Thriller video, a stage-worn costume from Jackson's final United States concert in April of 2002, Michael Jackson's stage worn "Bad" jacket signed by Michael Jackson, record awards and other property from his historic career.

This is the 2nd time the Newbridge Silverware Museum has presented memorabilia from Michael Jackson. This year from March 13th – 22nd, over 40k fans visited the World Exclusive Preview of the Personal Property of Michael Jackson at the Museum.

This rare Collection from Michael Jackson forms the highlight of Julien' Auctions "Music Icons" auction which also includes items from Rock and Roll legends, Madonna, Bob Dylan, Ron Wood, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, Bo Diddley and many other "Music Icons".

This collection of Rock n Roll history will be on display at the Museum during this time and will eventually be available at the "Music Icons" auction presented by Julien's Auctions at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square New York on Saturday, November 21st, 2009.

Priscilla Presley set for West End debut

Elvis Presley's ex-wife Priscilla Presley is thinking of performing live on stage for the first time in a comedy play, which is scheduled to take place at London's West End.

The 60-year old Presley feels the play may be an interesting opportunity for her to exhibit her versatility as an actress. She has films like The Naked Gun, and The Hayley Wagner to her credit and now she is all set to perform for the first time in front of a live audience.

"I've been offered a fantastic role that can't say too much about, but it's a comedy with a serious message. I've never really done stage before but that's the challenge of being an actress," Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.

The original signed marriage certificate issued to Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley on May 26, 1994 in the Dominican Republic, where the couple embarked on their brief but highly publicized life together, will be sold the weekend of Jan. 22-24, 2010, by Philip Weiss Auctions in Oceanside, N.Y.

[USPRwire, Fri Nov 13 2009] The original marriage certificate issued to Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley on May 26, 1994 in the Dominican Republic, where the couple embarked on their brief but highly publicized life together, will be sold in an important multi-estate sale slated for the weekend of Jan. 22-24, 2010, by Philip Weiss Auctions. The certificate was signed by both Jackson and Presley.

“Anything relating to Michael Jackson is of extreme interest right now because of his untimely death and the release of the movie,” said Philip Weiss, “but when you have an item that combines his name and legend with the Presley name and legend, their marriage certificate no less, with both of their signatures on it, you’ve got something that’s almost impossible to predict what it will bring at auction.”

Not a bother! I,too, like her house so much! I'm sure she will never leave the US for good. She is forever bonded with the USA, it's just that she probably wants to have a base in the UK and probably live in the UK for the twins' education

I like her house, too. I am surprised it is so light. I would expect her house to be darker, "heavier" for some reason.

because the certificate seems very private.
i wouldn't want my marriage certificate being passed around from hands to hands for money. i could get into the hands of people who don't care about it and they'll just be selling it on ebay, trading it for money and stuff.
that possession has a deeper meaning and should belong to at least the person on the certificate who is still alive.
i think it was wrong for them to let that item out...ugh what ppl will do for money.

The question is how did someone else get hold of this certificate. Shouldn´t just MIke and Lisa have one at home? I´ve nver been married so I don´t know who are the people that get the certificate, but I´d think it´s just the married couple.

rileyfan- I think what Manay means is that because it's a private document Lisa must keep it for it was their own wedding, because she is the 'other' person mentioned on that documents. Wink

cannotbelieveit if only I had no visa issues or lived in the US, my husband and are both huge Elvis fans, we would have loved to be there this year Sad The ticket prices are affordable, especially for a one-off celebration like this!

Another piece of info about the show

Only ET's Mark Steines is with Priscilla Presley as Elvis Presley returns to Las Vegas.

The inspiration for the new Cirque du Soleil show at the ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas is Elvis and his love of comic books, superheroes and amusement parks.

"What it brings back is the energy of when Elvis first appeared, or whenever he was coming here to appear for a show," Priscilla tells Mark. "He loved the intimacy, he loved being able to connect with his audience, and he loved to see their eyes. You know, he was the ultimate performer. He was there for his audience and he truly came alive."

The production will pay tribute to Elvis' music and life, fusing dance and acrobatics, live music and iconic tracks, nostalgia and modernity, high technology and raw emotion. From the larger-than-life statue, to the wigs worn by the cast, the trademark shades and the jumpsuits, the show will be in Elvis' image: powerful, sexy, whimsical and truly unique.

"Elvis Presley: Viva Elvis" will premiere at the new ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas on February 19, 2010. It is just a part of the year-long celebration of Elvis' 75th birthday, which will begin on January 7, 2010 at Graceland.

Rare Elvis Film Auctioned In Wiltshire

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Footage showing the moment Elvis and Priscilla Presley brought their baby daughter home for the first time is being auctioned in Wiltshire. The reel of 16mm film showing intimate family moments lasts for 17 minutes and is expected to fetch about £5,000. It has come from Jimmy Velvet, president of the Elvis Presley Museum, in Nashville, Tennessee.

Among the other memorabilia is a guitar pick, with EP imprinted on it, which Elvis used for his final tour in 1977.The auction is being held by Henry Aldridge and Son in Devizes on 16 January. The footage starts with Priscilla walking over to an old stage wagon in the desert near Las Vegas. She explains that these are her most precious memories of the days she had with Elvis.

Other scenes include Elvis and Priscilla at a party on the eve of their wedding in May 1967, as well as footage from the wedding at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas. It also shows the Presleys arriving home from the hospital with Lisa Marie, and Elvis and Priscilla driving around Memphis waving at fans and holding their daughter to the window.

Auctioneer Andrew Aldridge said: "The film appears to have come from Priscilla's own personal home movies of Elvis and gives the viewer a snapshot of life behind the scenes. "The footage itself gives a fascinating insight into Elvis' private life." Mr Aldridge said the Wiltshire auctioneers were known world-wide for their collectible items and sold a strand of Elvis' hair for more than £1,000 last year.

The footage is being sold without copyright.

i wouldn't want my marriage certificate being passed around from hands to hands for money. i could get into the hands of people who don't care about it and they'll just be selling it on ebay, trading it for money and stuff.
that possession has a deeper meaning and should belong to at least the person on the certificate who is still alive.
i think it was wrong for them to let that item out...ugh what ppl will do for money.

I`m not sure about the Dominican Republic but here in the U.S. anyone can go to the courthouse and get a printed copy of anyone`s marriage certificate. It`s public domain. I got a copy of my grandparents` marriage certificates and birth certificates that way.

This could be the copy that was given to Michael and Lisa, since it appears to be signed by them.?? I`m sure you`re right, we`re bound to see it on ebay sooner or later.

Lisa Marie Presley Talks About Dad, Golf Carts And Her New Album with T-Bone Burnett

Lisa Marie Presley is back on the music scene with a stellar album called Storm And Grace - a mix of rock and alt-country, if I could be so bold to name it. T-Bone Burnett has put his wonderful touch on these great songs.

With this album, she’s on a very important tour, (Aug 28 at The Triple Door in Seattle) — to rebrand herself away from the ‘pop star’ and ‘daughter-of’ labels. She’s a down-to-earth and friendly conversationalist – and happy to talk about Dad.

What’s been going on with you for 7 long years between albums?

Oh, God, everything. You need time sometimes in between things – lots of changes. I had babies (twin girls 4 years ago). Things happen. Life.

Is it good to get away from pop music on Storm And Grace?

I was never supposed to be in the pop era. People in the past just didn’t know how to market me. So this one is just more comfortable and normal and it’s just easier. T-Bone Burnett producing it helps to give it that feel. It’s been a growing process as well. Each record has been in a growing time of my life where I was doing something and going through something that I was writing about.

In the video of Over Me, your band –the Black Lillies – looks like an old rock medicine show.

That’s a nice version of what I’ve heard them called before – my husband is sitting right here – they called them morticians and undertakers… (laughing)

Did you write all of these songs on Storm and Grace?

I write everything. I wrote all the songs and agree on a melody. Then they leave me alone in a room and I’ll labor over the lyrics – sometimes 3 to 7 hours. I like to walk out with a song finished by the end of the day.

Your press release talks about you as a kid, obsessively playing 45’s on your record player, and catching your dad singing into a hairbrush in the mirror.

Reverse that. He caught me.

Ooops! Okay then, has music always come easy to you?

Yes, it’s always been important to me. Obviously it would have been easier for me if I’d picked some other profession. (laughs) But I love music so much, it’s always been a part of my life. And writing, I’ve always thought of myself as a singer-songwriter –it’s not like I’m trying to be or do anything other than that. For me, if I was around in the Carol King days and Linda Ronstat, I’d fit in fine – because there were a lot of female singer-songwriters that weren’t full of other stuff. It was pretty simple back then.

But you’re around in the time of Lucinda Williams…

That is very true. Good. Shelby Lynn and Bonnie Raitt. I mean there’s plenty of amazing, incredible… Jesus, there’s Heart. A lot, too many to name.

If you weren’t the daughter of the King, what kind of celebrity would you want from your music?

I had the celebrity before the music. I always have to struggle to conquer – that’s one element and I get it – that’s one element, and that’s where the music is. This is what you read, and I get it, that other persona. But that’s not what this music’s about, that’s not what I do it for. And back then, people didn’t get nearly as much, it wasn’t as crazy, celebrity-wise for people.

I know people look at me for whatever various reasons for whatever they heard. I can see it on their face, I can sense when the music is actually reaching people. And that why I do what I do, I would never do this for the celebrity.

Talk to us about doing duets with your dad, Natalie Cole style.

We’ve done it 3 times. I usually do it on the anniversary of his death, August 16th, There’s usually a huge event in Memphis, and I do it for the fans. Steven Foster produced the first and second one – Don’t Cry, Daddy, and In the Ghetto. I did it to raise money for a housing project. And the third one I just did with T-Bone. I never marketed them or cashed in on them, they were for a specific reason.
The latest one is I Love You Because – with beautiful harmonies – how do you get through that recording emotionally?

I can’t think that way while I do it, but afterward I will. I have to think technically. He’s (Elvis) is going to sound absolutely brilliant and perfect as always, and I have to come in here and not ruin the song – that’s normally what I’m thinking. (laughing)

What are your favorite movies of your Dad’s?

If I had to chose, Love Me Tender, Jailhouse Rock and King Creole, I also liked a lot.

Why?

They were actually more serious, and more in the realm of what he wanted to be doing than what happened later. He had fun, but he wanted to be a serious actor, and in those, you can see he was very capable of it.

What’s your favorite memory of your dad?

Being alone with him, he’d get me up in the middle of the night and take me off somewhere in his golf cart. He was nocturnal. And I could pretty much run unsupervised around Graceland. I was talking to my cousin and we can’t understand why we didn’t kill each other, we were always in trouble. But spending time alone with him (dad) in the middle of the night, I liked the most. He’d get up and say we were going to a pet store or on a ride somewhere or to an amusement park. He’d take me to my Grandfather’s alone. That kind of stuff I just really liked.

You’ll be playing at The Triple Door on August 28th here in Seattle. Have you seen the movie, It Happened At The State Fair (filmed in Seattle)?

Yes I have.

Will you go up in the Space Needle where your dad was?

Yes. This tour is a big one and if I have extra time, I will. We don’t have that many days off.

You’ve been a joy to talk to, Lisa Marie Presley. Thank you.

All right, thank you.

LISA MARIE PRESLEY- Ambassador for the Arts and Advocacy

As the only child of Elvis Presley and Pricilla Presley, Lisa Marie Presley has been in the public eye since before she was born and was tasked with the daunting challenge of finding her own path while still maintaining her family connection and love for her southern roots. Since debuting as a singer-songwriter-composer in 2003, she has tenaciously grown as a respected musical artist. On June 12, 2005, Ms. Presley received recognition as ‘Favorite Female rock Vocalist’ from ASYM, the Association of Songwriters and Young Musicians. Her latest album, the 2012 released Storm & Grace, is a “raw, powerful country, folk and blues collection that finds her embracing her Southern roots and family name” states Rolling Stone Magazine. Ms. Presley debuted the album on several television programs across the USA including Good Morning America, American Idol, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and a debut performance at the Grand Ole Opry. Critics have called it “Presley’s strongest album of her career; a moody masterpiece, exploring the demons and angels of her life to the tune of country-spiced downbeat pop.”

Continuing in her parent’s footsteps of advocacy and philanthropy, Ms. Presley has supported a variety of causes throughout her life from literacy and education to relief services for victims of natural disasters.

Ms. Presley co-founded the Literacy, Education and Ability Program (LEAP) a free program for children of all ages in Memphis, Tennessee. She is Chairperson of The Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation (EPCF), which continues Elvis’ own tradition of community service and philanthropy. One of its programs, Presley Place, provides homeless families up to one year of rent-free housing, child day care, career and financial counseling, family management guidance and other tools to help them break the cycle of poverty and regain independence. She supports the Grammy Foundation’s Signature School Program which provides monetary grants to High School music programs across the USA. On June 24, 2011, Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam proclaimed a day of recognition for Lisa Marie Presley to honor her charitable efforts.
